Busy, Busy, Busy: Atlanta Airport Leads in Travel traffic

3/09/07
Hartsfield remains the world's busiest passenger airport, according to an international group. The Airports Council International based in Switzerland said Atlanta is with 84.8 million passengers followed by Chicago's O'Hare and London's Heathrow. The council said traffic at U.S. airports dropped because of restructuring of Delta and Northwest, and the demise of Independence Air. Denver showed the best improvement in the United States last year, with a 9.1 percent hike in passenger traffic. Memphis, Tenn., which is headquarters of Federal Express, continues to have the world's busiest airport for cargo. Hong Kong is second. Anchorage, Alaska, is third.
